In 2021, Ghana produced over 8.3 million metric tons of yam, a slight decrease compared to the previous year. The quantity of yam produced in the country has generally followed an increasing trend since 2011, peaking in 2020. Yam is one of the most important root crops in Ghana besides cassava.
