Media Impact Value gained by Casio and Rolex following release of Shakira single 2023
In the four days after the release of Colombian superstar Shakira's latest single “Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions #53" on January 13, 2023, Casio and Rolex - two brands mentioned in the song - earned a respective amount of 70 and 40 million U.S. dollars in Media Impact Value (MIV). Of Casio's value, 41 million was generated by social media conversations, while online mentions were estimated at 29 million. Of Rolex's value, 20.8 million stemmed from social media, while 19.7 million came from other online sources. In her collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap, Shakira compared herself to a Rolex and the girlfriend of her ex partner Gerard Piqué to a Casio watch, in a lyrical turn that has since helped the single break records as most-streamed Latin song in 24 hours on both YouTube and Spotify.
