Net spend of English Premier League clubs on transfers 2021-2022

In October 2022, one year after Newcastle United's takeover by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, the Magpies topped the Premier League net spend table for the previous year, spending over 221 million British pounds on transfers. Chelsea, in second place, was also a club under new ownership, and had a net spend of just over 200 million British pounds in the same period.
