Global internet access rate 2019-2023, by gender

As of 2023, the share of the male population in the world that used the internet was 70 percent, compared to 65 percent of the female population. In 2019, the online usage rate for women was 63 percent, while the internet penetration among male users was 62 percent. The usage gap between the two groups was consistent throughout the research, five to seven percent.
