Industrial sector's electricity use in Spain 2021, by segment
In 2021, the iron and steel segment reported the highest electricity consumption amongst other industrial segments in Spain, having surpassed one million metric tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe). Ranking second was the food, drinks and tobacco segment, which consumed over 969 thousand metric tons of oil equivalent worth of electricity in 2021. That year, the electricity consumption of the Spanish industrial sector amounted to a total of 6.5 Mtoe.
