Leading smartphone activities for U.S. users 2022, by gender
As of December 2022, chatting or sending messages was the most performed smartphone activity among adult internet users in the United States. E-mail usage ranked second, with almost 70 percent of women and around 60 percent of men checking their e-mail communications on their mobile devices. Watching videos was equally popular among both groups, at approximately 60 percent.
