With a production volume of 1.28 trillion cubic meters in 2023, North America was the leading natural gas producing region in the world. It is expected to remain the largest producer in 2024, with a forecast output of some 1.3 trillion cubic meters. The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) followed, with a production volume of close to 800 billion cubic meters in 2023.
