In 2021, 91 percent of hospitals in the United States reported they sent care record summaries electronically to systems outside of their organization, marking a slight increase from 2017. The share of hospitals in the U.S. which engaged in all four domains of interoperability increased from 41 percent in 2017 to 62 percent in 2021.
