People with mental health symptoms in Spain 2020, by type and gender
As of July 2020, a few months after the COVID-19 pandemic began, nearly 27 percent of women aged 15 and older reported feeling depressed in Spain, an increase compared to 22.5 percent of women who said the same before the pandemic. A larger share of respondents, including both genders, reported trouble sleeping and expressed a lack of interest or joy in doing things compared to before the pandemic. In the case of men who experienced depression during that period in Spain, the share grew from around 13.6 percent before COVID-19 to almost 15 percent as of July 2020.
