Leading social media usage reasons in Chile 2022

A survey conducted in the third quarter of 2022 found that around 61.1 percent of internet users in Chile used social media to stay in touch with friends and family. Reading news stories was the second main reason for using social media for about half of the respondents. Filling up spare time and looking for content were important reasons for 47 percent and 42.9 percent of social media users, respectively.
