As of August 2023, Boris Pistorius, the German Federal Minister of Defence (appointed on January 19, 2023) had the highest approval rating out of the most important politicians in Germany with a rating of 1.7 on a scale of -5 to +5. In second place was Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In tenth place with a score of -2.6 was AfD party member Alice Weidel.
