According to a 2022 survey of internet users, the perception of online dating safety varies by gender across different countries. In Japan, 73 percent of female respondents said they felt unsafe using online dating apps, compared to 67 percent of male respondents who shared this view. Additionally, 55 percent of women and 46 percent of male respondents in Germany perceived online dating as unsafe.
