The value of payments made with a contactless or tap to pay payment option on cards in Brazil increased by over 187 percent between 2021 and 2022. The source adds that payments using NFT technology were largest for credit cards, which is not a surprise as credit cards are a popular payment method in the country for shopping in physical stores. Consequently, contactless payments in this country are an extension of an already popular payment method within the country.
