Medication treatments for dementia in people 45 years old or older, by type
In a 2016 study in Israel, the total share of all dementia cases treated at least once with an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor stood at 90 percent. This was followed by treatment with memantine (at least once) with a total share of 42.3 percent. The least used drug treatment for dementia in this survey was the use of galantamine on its own, at 1.7 percent. A total of 42,328 people were treated with medication in Israel during the survey year.
