Global drinking water coverage in schools 2015-2021, by service type
In 2021, approximately 71.2 percent of schools worlwide had access to drinking water, up from less than 70 percent in 2015. In the same period, the share of schools lacking drinking water services decreased from roughly 18 percent to 15.2 percent in 2021. Nevertheless, access to drinking water in schools still varies greatly across world regions.
