National Bank of Egypt (NBE) as the leading bank in Egypt in terms of asset value held. As of June 2021, the bank held almost 167.41 billion U.S. dollars. Banque Misr and Commercial International Bank (CIB) followed with 118.32 billion U.S. dollars and 25.7 billion U.S. dollars as of December 2021 and 2022, respectively. QNB Al Ahli, Banque du Caire, and Arab African International Bank were also leading banks in Egypt in terms of assets.
