Impact of payment methods on cart abandonment behavior in Japan 2023, by gender
The available payment methods of an online store influenced the cart abandonment rate of the majority of shoppers in Japan. As revealed in a survey conducted from February to March 2023, over 50 percent of male and 44.6 percent of female respondents stated that they would look at other online stores to buy the same products if their preferred payment methods were not available. 14 percent of men and 12.6 percent of women stated that they would cancel their purchases due to the absence of their desired settlement methods.
