Share of trans people hiding identity in Europe

At least a quarter of transgender respondents in Europe indicated that they never hide their trans identity in order to avoid discrimination, a positive development considering the substantial prejudice which many trans people may face in European countries. North Macedonia, Romania, and Cyprus had the most respondents saying they always or often hide their identity, with 43 percent of respondents in North Macedonia indicating they do so. At the other end of the scale, Finland only had 16 percent of respondents saying they always or often hide their gender identity.
