Awareness of consumer price developments in Japan 2023

The majority of consumers in Japan felt that consumer prices increased in the past year. As revealed in a survey conducted between December 2023, around 95 percent of respondents felt that commodity prices rose within the last year. Only around one percent observed a downward trend in consumer prices.
