Share of global vehicle market located in countries with policies supporting EV sales

As of 2022, 97 percent of the global light-duty vehicle market comprised countries with policies encouraging electric vehicle adoption, with 41 percent of these policies coming from countries in the Asia region. In contrast, around 58 percent of the heavy-duty vehicle market was covered by policies supporting electric vehicles, a share which dropped even further down to 29 percent for two- and three-wheelers.
