Total investments in electric vehicles by manufacturers 2016-2023

Compared to other electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, Volkswagen's total EV investment between 2016 and 2023 was the highest at around 69.67 billion 2023 U.S. dollars. Volkswagen was followed by BYD at around 64.51 billion 2023 U.S. dollars. In contrast, Great Wall had the lowest amount of EV investments between 2016 and 2023.

Although Volkswagen had the highest total EV investment between 2016 and 2023, Tesla spent the highest on zero-emission vehicle investment per vehicle in this period.
