As of 2022, 91 percent of countries in the WHO European region reported having at least one government-sponsored mHealth program. The use of mobile devices for medical and public health practice is known as mHealth. However, 72 percent of countries also reported not having an entity that is responsible for the regulatory oversight of mobile apps for quality, safety, and reliability.
