During an August 2023 survey among consumers aged 55 and above in the United States, almost two-thirds (or 65 percent) said a brand they already knew and trusted influenced their choice of brand or item. Around 11 percent mentioned recommendations from friends and/or family, while no respondent from that age group cited in-store salespersons' recommendations.
