Occasions meriting gourmet rewards to oneself in Japan 2023
According to a survey conducted in Japan in October 2023, 45 percent of respondents stated when they had done their best, it merited a gourmet reward. In contrast, only 10.5 percent of respondents considered achieving results in work or studies an important enough occasion for treating oneself with gourmet dining.
Gourmet rewards refer to edible products consumers buy or prepare as a reward to themselves. Not exclusive to high-priced products, the term includes all kinds of foods someone refrains from buying on a daily basis.
