In 2023, 38 percent of respondents among technical executives and IT security practitioners worldwide reported that their company had conducted regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to strengthen its authentication security measures after having experienced an authentication-related cyberattack. Strengthened password policies were another popular change made by organizations, highlighted by 30 percent of respondents. On the other hand, only 12 percent mentioned that their firm had adopted passwordless authentication methods following a cyberattack.
