Expenditure on artificial intelligence (AI) showed significant diversity among industries in 2023, with the banking and retail sectors leading in terms of the most substantial AI investments during that year. The banking sector's spending accounted for 13.4 percent of all investments, followed by the retail sector with 12.8 percent. Worldwide spending on AI was estimated at 154 billion U.S. dollars in 2023.
