The source explained that the socio-economic classification for a household was calculated using the Brazilian Economic Classification Criteria (CCEB) which is based on the Household Budget Survey of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. The categories range from A (high income households) and B (middle income households) to C (low income households) and D (households with no disposable income).
