A 2024 global study analyzed the travel destinations that reported the highest increase in share of flight bookings between June and August 2024 compared to 2019. Overall, Munich in Germany and Tokyo in Japan were the cities with the highest change in global tourist demand in the summer of 2024, each with a 0.6 percent increase over 2019.
