As of 2022, MBC Groups' digital platform, Shahid, held the highest share of subscription based video-on-demand (SVOD) users in the Middle East and North Africa at 23 percent. Shahid's share of users in its largest two markets, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, amounted to 32 and 29 percent respectively. Netflix was the second most popular platform in the region, holding 18 percent of the market share.
