During the second half of 2023, practically 92 percent of first cardiology consultations in Portuguese public hospitals occurred after the guaranteed maximum response time. Almost 62 percent of first oncology consultations also took place after the guaranteed response period, while 56 percent of first specialty consultations (excluding first oncology and cardiology consultations) were similarly overdue.
