Around a third of people in France are occasional cyclists, cycling several times per month or less, with there being no difference between men and women. Among regular cyclists, who cycle at least once per month, men are more strongly represented. Just under a third of men are regular cyclists, while only around a fifth of women are regular cyclists.

Regular cyclists include people who cycle at least once per week or more often. Occasional cyclists include people who cycle several times per month or less. Non-cyclists include people who never cycle.
Original survey question: How often do you use your bicycle (electric or not) in a personal or professional capacity?
Participants were split evenly between the survey period in June and October.
Participants, who had cycled in the previous seven days were asked about their trips. The data, therefore, represents two typical weeks in June and October.
