Energy employment worldwide 2023, by sector

Out of the 67.5 million people employed in the energy sector worldwide in 2023, the majority worked in vehicles and EV batteries manufacturing or in the power generation industry. Since 2021, the number of employees in the clean energy sector exceeded that of fossil fuels-related jobs and has been growing ever since.
