Oldest state leaders worldwide 2024

Paul Biya, President of Cameroon, is the oldest head of state worldwide with his 91 years. Biya has been President of Cameroon and was the country's prime minister six years before that, making him the longest ruling non-royal authoritarian leader still in power as of July 2024. Some of the heads of state on the list have strictly ceremonial roles, such as Pope Francis of the Vatican State and King Harald V of Norway, whereas others, for instance Joe Biden in the United States, hold political powers and act as heads of government as well.
