According to a survey conducted in 2024, 57 percent of adults aged 18 to 49 years who said they were unlikely to have children in the United States agreed that a major reason for remaining childless was that they just did not want to have children. A further 44 percent said that they wanted to focus on other things, while 38 percent cited concerns about the state of the world.
