Hyperscale build-to-suit data centers were the most promising area of data center investment, according to a January 2024 survey among global investors. Close to one-third of respondents shared that they saw the greatest opportunity in hyperscale build-to-suits in the next 12 to 24 months. Operating platform and entity investment presented the greatest opportunity according to 21 percent of respondents, making it the second most popular type of investment.
