In 2023, Swedish diesel cars had travelled the most distance, at around 2.66 billion Scandinavian miles (approximately 26.56 billion kilometers). However, when looking strictly at vehicle-miles travelled by individuals, petrol cars were driving across the largest distance. Though plug-in hybrid electric vehicles were the third in the ranking, petrol cars travelled over five times the distance travelled by PHEVs.
