In an online survey conducted in May 2024, about 67 percent of respondents in urban India reported having seen political ads on YouTube, while less than 60 percent cited television as the most common platform for political ads. Approximately three-quarters of the respondents reported that they had seen some form of political advertisement during the 18th general elections held that year. Additionally, the majority of respondents in India reported seeing advertisements from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
