According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2024, around 84 percent of respondents reported that they thought legal assisted suicide was needed or very needed. Only about seven percent disagreed, while the rest were unsure. Currently, passive euthanasia is legal in South Korea but is limited to the terminally ill with no chance of recovery. Other forms of assisted dying, including assisted suicide or active euthanasia, are not legal.
