More than one in ten adult residents in the Île-de-France region in France owned an e-scooter in 2023. The ownership rate is highest in Hauts-de-Seine and Seine-et-Marne where close to 14 percent of residents own an e-scooter.
While shared e-scooters were banned in Paris in August 2023 following a referendum, private e-scooters remain legal in the region.
