In 2023, nearly three in ten of surveyed physicians would like to retire within the next year. While the share of physicians wanting to retire has dropped from an all-time high in 2020, it has increased compared to 2022, in which just two in ten physicians were planing to retire within the year.

This statistic was compiled using data from multiple publications of the "Survey of America's Current and Future Physicians" report.Â
