In 2017, data centers became of interest to State-Owned Investors (SOIs) with three percent of total investments being allocated in that year. The level of total investment increased to 19 percent in 2023 before returning to three percent in the first half of 2024. From 2015 through to 2019, real estate investments allocated to offices ranged from a low of 29 percent to a high of 40 percent, following 2020, this share of total investments dropped with investment levels resting at 15 percent as of the first half of 2024.
