Rising costs and financial stress were identified as the leading wine industry challenges among South Australian wine businesses in a 2023 conducted survey, with around 30 percent of respondents indicating this. The excess supply of wine and wine grapes in Australia was also considered a key issue facing the wine industry, as well as changing consumer preferences and a decline in wine consumption.
