In 2022, nominal wages rose in most industries, while real wages decreased in all industries, except for in the mechanical and vehicle engineering industry where real wages increased by 1.2 percent. However, this stands in relation to nominal wages increasing by four percent. This was due to the increased inflation levels that led to a devaluation of wages in terms of real goods. The largest loss in real wages was recorded for those working in the processing of rubber and plastic, with a decrease of five percent.
