In 2023, user-generated content (UGC), videos on social media, and short online videos constituted the majority of online video viewership in Malaysia, with 93 percent. Meanwhile, premium video-on-demand (SVOD), which included subscription-based platforms, had approximately seven percent of online video viewership.
