Auckland was the leading region for overnight stays among international visitors to New Zealand, according to a 2024 survey, with just over 50 percent of respondents having stayed at least one night in the Auckland region during their trip. The Queenstown-Lakes and Christchurch City Districts were also highly visited among international tourists across the country's districts.
