Approximately 38 percent of Romanians identified themselves as ethical consumers in 2023, most of them bought sustainable food products, being twice as common among people with higher education compared to non-ethical consumers. It was also 2.8 times more common for people with medium income to buy sustainable coffee and drink products, and nine times more common for people with high income to purchase sustainable home and home care products.
