According to a survey conducted in 2024, 70 percent of Americans agreed that people in the United States should be allowed to express speech that supports Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state in public, even if it might offend others. In comparison, only 66 percent of Americans said that people should be allowed to express speech that supports Palestinians having their own state in public. However, a much smaller share of Americans were found to believe that calling for violence against Jews or Muslims should be allowed in public, at 10 percent and 11 percent respectively.
