When asked about their experience of booking tickets on airline websites or apps in a survey, over 60 percent of respondents in India reported frequently experiencing a false sense of urgency created to speed up their booking in 2024. In comparison, less than 10 percent of respondents reported never having faced this issue. False urgency was among the 13 deceptive practices prohibited by the Central Consumer Protection Authority in India since November 2023.
