In 2020, there were roughly 68,150 providers in the seven post-acute and long-term care (LTC) settings of the LTC sector in the United States. They served a total of 7.3 million users. While the total number of LTC providers has grown compared to 2012, this was due to increases in the number of assisted living providers and hospice providers, while other LTC settings have seen a decrease in the number of providers.
