In 2023, Africa's share in chemicals and related products imported into the European Union (EU) was 1.8 percent. This marked a decrease by 0.4 percentage points from the previous year, when the share of Africa peaked at 2.2 percent. Between 2016 and 2020, the share of chemical products imported into the EU from Africa stood at its lowest, compared to higher values before and after this period.
